Dreamy Suede

October 28, 2014

Duo Boots / Max & Co. Jumper (similar here) / Topshop Jeans

The excitement of receiving these dreamy suede boots… (well lets just say there was a rather big squeal involved). I have been looking for a pair like these for quite some time, but never found the right fit (I wanted slimline, not slouchy), a comfortable heel (block, not stiletto) and the right height (just over the knee) – not picky at all then.

These boots from Duo pretty much tick off all boxes for me (and I can vouch for them being super comfortable, having worn them a whole day running around town on errands!).

I opted for a minimal outfit with a combination of different textures; slouchy cashmere mixed with rough denim and soft suede. Keeping the colour palette neutral and rest of the outfit clean – because lets face it – these boots do all the talking.

Gold & Marble

October 25, 2014

I am a huge fan of gold and marble accents in interior, which we are playing a lot on in our new home. I particularly like it in kitchens and bathrooms; I love the combinations of soft grey with the shiny brass look.

Whilst counting down the weeks until we can move in, here are some of my favourites interior pics – many of which I used when designing our very own kitchen.

Smokey Eyes

October 23, 2014

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eyes Collection

When it comes to party make-up, anything with the word smokey or shimmer in it (preferably combined), I am pretty much sold. My make-up is very paired back and neutral during the day, so when nightime falls and I have somewhere (preferably fabulous) to go to, I bring out the more glamorous side of me. Its always nice having a bit of sparkle when nighttime falls, and I adore Bobbi Brown‘s Smokey Eye Collection for just that; an array of soft, nude and warm colours, both in matt (to contour and define) and shimmer (to add some warmth and glow). Lipsticks in berry colours, and a mascara to finalise a more dramatic night time look.

You all know I am big fan of Bobbi Brown, having used the make-up range at my wedding; its amazing quality and super long-lasting (I can certainly vouch for that after 30 degrees on our big day!) – and I love the ethos behind the brand; focusing on quality over quantity with their multi-use products. I adore the warm glowing colours from this collection in particular, combined with the matt neutral shades, which are so easily blended in with the shimmer – which goes with pretty much any outfit.

Tip: I use the brown matt eyeshadow to shape and fill in my eyebrows too, using a eyebrow pencil (a tip from a Bobbi Brown make-up artist); it works just as well as anything else! I also use the shimmer face powder in the contour of my eyes and under, to brighten and add a bit more glow (I told you Bobbi Brown is about multi-use products).

My Style : After Dark with REISS

October 20, 2014

I am all about day-to-night outfits, but every now and again its fun to step out of my comfort zone and glam it up a notch. The best part of a big night out is often the time before, preparing with a soak in the bath, getting my hair and nails ready, and most importantly – choosing my outfit. Granted, my going-out style is often pretty minimal (black, black and black – and maybe a hint of some print) – with a good combination of masculine and feminine; I do love changing it up for a girls night out after dark. And indeed I did – when REISS invited me and five fellow fashion & beauty bloggers to London’s Hoxton Hotel to select and dress up in our favourite outfits from the AW14 collection for their “My Style: After Dark” shoot (pretty much ideal, in other words).

No surprise, I opted for all black (and a hint of animal print, as expected). I love playing with different textures – such as this stunning silk bomber combined with literally the most p e r f e c t ribbed A-line skirt (so flattering). Adding some sheen to the look with this silk high neck top, textured suede heels (these will go with everything), leather and metal belt, and my personal favourite from the whole outfit – the Elliot mini leopard print bag. Its the perfect party accessory, which in my opinion instantly changes the whole feel and look of my outfit. I am a big fan of keeping the overall look chic and classic; rather adding bold and bright accessories – this also gives me more freedom to play around with my hair and make-up (hello, red lippy).

I had such a lovely day shooting with these beauties and one of my all-time favourite British brands, which in my opinion are excelling every season. I have personally never been great at dressing up in typical “party wear” outfits, with figure hugging dresses and super feminine details – however REISS’s AW14 party wear collection offers a good combination of sophisticated, understated, yet bold styles which is luckily right up my street. I am a big fan of versatile investment pieces – and in this outfit, I have six individual items which will be so easy to mix and play around in many seasons to come.

You can read the full feature on REISS online here and shop my complete outfit here. Thank you to REISS for inviting me, the The Hoxton Hotel for hosting us, and Sassoon for the amazing hair.

On My Mind: Day-to-Night

October 19, 2014

Nike Trainers / Topshop Jeans / Mango Jumper / Daniel Wellington Watch / MSGM Coat / Whistles Heels  / Hush T-Shirt / Atterley Road Bag

Autumn is well and truly here, and I for one cant wait to get my wool coats outs (this one from MSGM is pretty much perfection!). With the right coat, you can dress up, or play down any outfit – just replace your trusted Nike kicks for these fab suede heels from Whistles. Play with a bit of colour, with this super fresh red jumper, and add some clean and minimal accessories – the perfect day-to-evening outfit.

Happy Sunday peeps!

New Project: The Balanced Collective

October 17, 2014

As some of you may, or may not have noticed (via my Instagram) – I recently revealed my new project, which I have created together with a close friend and business partner – called The Balanced Collective. It will be completely separate from this blog, and the website is officially launching this January.

In the meantime, here is a quick overview of what its all about!

The Balanced Collective is our online guide to glowing from the inside out. What started off as two friends supporting each other in a full mind, body and health journey has now become our lifestyle. On this path, we ended up inspiring friends, family and colleagues along the way which has now resulted in this platform for us to share our experiences and ideas with a broader audience.

Our aim has always been to understand our bodies, make smart choices and be healthier without missing out on life. We both lead very busy lives, love to travel and appreciate good food. All we have done is find a balance in life, that has resulted in us feeling healthier and happier – focusing on balance not perfection.

Life is meant to be lived, not limited and that is what we hope to share on The Balanced Collective.

The website will launch in January – in the meantime, you can sign up here to be notified when it goes live, and if you like, follow us on Instagram, where we are already sharing all our day-to-day health tips & tricks, recipes, fitness and more.

#OOTD: Wardrobe Essentials

October 15, 2014

Excuse the lack of content and more frequent updates – I am currently a bit of a nomad, travelling a lot and living out of a suitcase here and there, whilst waiting for our new place in London to be done up!

Here are some of my recent #OOTD; as you might have noticed, I am very much into tonal colours in the grey/black/ navy scheme at the moment (as well as fuzzy vests and cozy, grey knits!). As I am constantly on the go with a suitcase in tow, I have really had to be clever with my packing and making sure I have key wardrobe essentials – which are versatile, comfortable, yet stylish.

All of the pieces pictured here are pretty much my go-to staples, and as they’re all tonal and classic pieces – they all match together – making my life a lot easier when on the road!

Feeling the Blues

October 14, 2014

black-3 Cashmere Scarf / Y.A.S Leather Jacket (similar here on sale) / Urban Outfitters Jeans / Prada Bag / Zara Jumper / Zara Shoes

The weather is certainly cooling down, and I am embracing being all wrapped up in thicker layers and scarves. I recently invested in this dream of a navy cashmere scarf from Black – its so soft, big and warming – love it! A classic investment for my autumn/winter wardrobe.

I know I keep saying it, but I am still obsessed with navy this season – and loving mixing shades of blue with shades of grey and black. I am also loving combining different textures together; soft leathers with textured jumpers, wool and rough denim – keeping the overall colour palette clean, yet interesting with the different shades and materials.

Pretty Little Things

October 10, 2014

COSABELLA x Urban Outfitters Bra & Briefs /  Feather & Stone EarringsChloé Roses de Chloé Perfume

Pretty little things make me so happy. Small, beautiful details such as lace, jewels and heavenly perfume always makes me feel that bit more feminine and girly – which is nice feeling every now and again.

details-1 details-3 details-2

I adore my new lace lingerie set from COSABELLA (in collaboration with Urban Outfitters). Its sensual, yet soft with the soft lace and shape. I have always worn non-padded and non-wired bras, so this one was ideal, and the shape is perfect.

Another new addition are these gorgeous earrings from Feather & Stone – I love anything gold and I have always been a big fan of stone material in my jewellery; I can sense these will be firmly coveted during the upcoming party season.

I normally tend to go for quite light perfume scents, often quite masculine – however every once in a while as previously mentioned – its nice to feel that bit more feminine – and Chloé’s latest perfume is the perfect combination of a soft and sweet scent.

Have an amazing Saturday!
