[SNAPSHOTS] Insta-Week: Part Two

Aug 31, 2012 by Anneli in LIFESTYLE 2 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: city, new york, outfit, sightseeing, snapshots, the bowery hotel, travel

Our hotel room suite at The Bowery Hotel with our own private terrace.

The view of the Hudson river from The Boom Boom Bar at the rooftop of The Standard Hotel. // Our bedroom view.

We ate big breakfasts at our local, The Bowery Diner. // Pancakes with syrup, yum… Take me back please.

We spent the whole day walking, so casual comfort was needed with loose tops and Converse. // Coffee shops on every corner in the West Village.

The most amazing food at Cafe Habana, a Cuban restaurant (you could tell by the one-hour long wait!). We drank Hibiscus Lemonade and ate Chilli Mayo and Cheese Corn. It was amazing!

Loved the small details at our hotel. They even had a branded Bowery teddy! // His and hers matching lounge set.

Streets of New York and the changing weather on our last day. One second it was pouring and the next it was glorious sun. Meatpacking district to the left and West Village to the right.

[FASHION] SALE! ASOS Lace T-shirt Dress

Aug 29, 2012 by Anneli in FASHION 8 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: asos, clothing, FASHION, lace, neon, new york, outfit

One of my favourite outfits from New York, on our way to The Standard Hotel – was wearing this amazing neon lace dress from ASOS. It was love at first sight, after spotting it on my friend Natalie Hughes’s blog from Canned Fashion. It’s stunning, good quality (cotton lace over a white slip dress) and the colour combination is amazing – neon pink, orange, white and navy.

Be aware that it’s very long – I actually had to shorten it quite a lot – but other than it was perfect. I only wish I spotted it earlier in the spring and summer season!

Get it from ASOS, now reduced to only £20. A steal!

I am wearing it with Bimba & Lola suede heels, sunglasses from A J Morgan, vintage clutch and Michael Kors watch.

[FASHION] H&M Trend Printed Jacket

Aug 28, 2012 by Anneli in FASHION 4 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: FASHION, H&M Trend, jacket, outfit, printed, shopping

The final purchase from Copenhagen (sorry for the delay!), was this beautiful, printed jacket from H&M Trend (£59). It was love at first sight, and I have worn it just about everyday since I bought it last weekend. I love the print, colours and shape, and I especially like the fray detailing on the the ends, giving it a more bohemian look.

I’ve been wearing it all weekend in New York as well – over dresses in the evening, or just with casual denim shorts. Another new wardrobe favourite!

I am wearing it with my COS top, J Brand jeans, Filippa K heels, A J Morgan sunglasses, YSL Cabas tote and Bijoux by Desi F necklace.

Speaking of New York. I didn’t shop as much as expected – we ended up spending the days walking around the West & East Village, Chelsea, Meatpacking District – strolling through beautiful leafy streets, sipping ice coffees (it was boiling), going to markets and eating a lot. I did however manage to pick up a few bits – I will show you in the next few days.

For you guys who follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you will probably know that this weekend was exceptionally special to me – and needless to say I am thrilled. I will show you more pictures from my New York trip on my weekly ‘Insta-Week’ update tomorrow.

I think I might just have found the perfect minimalistic “everyday” bag, from U.S brand Foley + Corinna. I love the size, buckle and zip detailing. Now, I just have to hunt it down in New York! The exchange rate is amazing (perfect justification).

Get it from Shopbop, £203.

[FASHION] ADAX Electric Blue Woven Clutch

Aug 24, 2012 by Anneli in FASHION 5 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: adax, clutch, danish, design, FASHION, outfit, scandinavia, Second hand, woven

First of all, I didn’t mean to look so grumpy in all of the pictures!

Anyways, here is the wonderful clutch I bought when I was in Copenhagen. It’s brand new, but I actually bought it at a vintage market stall. This one girl who was selling, had so much amazing stuff for grabs (also a fashion blogger) – there was a camel suede Gestuz jacket I am very much regretting I didn’t get…

The clutch, from Danish accessories brand ADAX, is woven in butter soft leather. The colour is gorgeous, and goes with just about everything believe it or not. It really makes a big difference to an outfit. It also comes with a detachable handle, but I prefer it just as a clutch. Definitely a new wardrobe favourite!

From Adax (past season, but similar here), £15 (originally £70).

I am wearing it with a Filippa K jumper (similar here), vintage denim skirt, Russell & Bromley suede leopard flats (similar here and here) and Michael Kors silver watch.

On another note, I am off to New York today! I don’t know if you remember this post, telling you about my trip (a birthday present from the b-friend)? Anyways, we were originally staying at Soho House, but a while back they told us they were doing some maintenance work during our stay. So we decided to move hotels to The Bowery Hotel in East Village, which in aftermath I have heard is even better! Check it out here. I am SO excited!

Perfect Friday afternoon on the boat!

Fresh Crayfish.

The view of the Norwegian fjords.

Ginger Beer and a good book. Bliss!

Proud Captain in his Persol’s.

Champers on the boat. Why not, as my mum always says!

Sushi-fest made by my sister (who I suspect must have some Japanese blood inside her – the sushi is too good).

Scandinavian breakfast. Creamy scrambled egg with smoked salmon, on dark rye bread. The best.

Happy faces (with a bit more colour on our cheeks.)

Now enough with Instagram for a bit, I have some amazing purchases that arrived over the weekend. Can’t wait to show you!

[NEW IN] GOOP City Guides

Aug 23, 2012 by Anneli in LIFESTYLE 2 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: blog, city, city guide, goop, gwyneth palthrow, london, new york, travel, website

I’ve been a massive fan of Gwyneth Paltrow’s website GOOP for so many years. It’s so inspiring and encapsulates all the things I love, all on one site. I was delighted when I discovered that she’s just launched City Guides, which are available to download to your iPhone. So far she has done London and New York – Los Angeles is coming soon.

I downloaded both the NY and London City guides – especially in preparation for my trip to New York tomorrow, and I love it! It has everything, from the best restaurants (a combination of classic, high-end, to small quaint brasseries), to the best shops, spas, bars, museum and sightseeing. I haven’t had time to explore the London city guide yet, but I can’t wait to see what Gwyneth recommends, and I can’t wait to take up all her NY tips during my weekend!

Get it from the iTunes store, £3.99 (for both NY & London).
