[WIBT] Styling for French Connection

Mar 21, 2013 by Anneli in FASHION 14 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: collaboration, collection, FASHION, french connection, high street, london, make a scene, outfit, styling, trend injection

OTF_Anneli 263

I was one of a few bloggers asked by French Connection to style their brand new SS13 Trend Injection collection prior to their launch tomorrow – curating my own interpretation and ‘edit’ of the the pieces. As there were some seriously lust worthy pieces to choose from, and I only had an hour to put something together – it was hard to reign in the amount of looks I wanted to create!

Working with the beautiful model Dani, great hair (Hair on Broadway) and make up team (Vintage Cosmetic Company) – I am thrilled with the final eight styles I created. As always, with everything I do, I really stayed true to myself with these outfits (why would I even attempt to create something I wouldn’t even wear myself)? This was even filtered down to the hair, make-up and accessories; with natural locks and simple make-up. The overall feel of the collection I created was wearable, classic, and always, with an edge.

Really hope you like it!

Untitled-1

LOOK 1: I love this look (inspired by the trusted Marant & IRO) and the combination of a knit with some seriously hot printed denim shorts. I always like to compensate when showing skin; i.e if you’re legs are out, then always cover up on the top part, vice versa. Tip: Wear nude heels to lengthen your legs!

Get the look: Jumper (£77), Shorts (in store) and heels (£95).

Untitled-2

LOOK 2: This was one of my favourite looks – classic, clean and classy. I really like the leather contrast sleeve and the gorgeous silver cuff, teamed together with these fierce skinny jeans. This is the perfect work-to-night style (which is so often hard to nail).

Get the look: Jacket (in store now), printed jeans (in store now), cuff (£25).

Untitled-3

LOOK 3: This skirt is divine. I love the length and material; super classy, yet demure in it’s shape and style. The skirt is the real ‘wow’ factor – hence why I teamed it with a beautiful woollen grey sweater. I love the contrast of style and materials – and hey, you all know I love grey.

Get the look: Jumper (£77), skirt (£95) & heels (£95).

Untitled-4

LOOK 4: I am a sucker for anything with animals on it, and who can resist this sequin panda t-shirt? This electric blue embroidered skirt is also pretty amazing – teamed with the most amazing nude heels (worn mostly throughout the shoot) – this is real fun and fresh outfit. I certainly wouldn’t mind looking like this come summertime!

Get the look: T-shirt (£35), skirt (in store), heels (£95) & cuff (£25).

Untitled-5

LOOK 5: This jacket is to die for and a real statement piece (and so me). It’s also pretty heavy, with stones, mirrors and thick embroidered cotton (making it even more special, in my eyes). Here, teamed with some classic black silk harem pants and a jersey vest – it’s a modern bohemian look. Tip: Add graphic & clean accessories, like this cuff, keeping the look more fresh.

Get the look: Jacket (£250), trousers (£87), vest (£22) & cuff (£25).

Untitled-6

LOOK 6: This leather wrap dress is stunning. Classy in it’s length, yet edgy with it’s split. I would say a wardrobe essential and the perfect alternative to the classic LBD. Another perfect work-to-evening outfit (and let’s talk about those metallic heels.) LOVE.

Get the look: Dress (£295) & heels (£120).

Untitled-7

LOOK 7: I love a good sweat, and this oversized sweater dress is the perfect summer dress. It’s casual, yet feminine with the black sheer panels, and perfect to wear on a night out, or teamed with some strappy sandals in the park.

Get the look: Dress (in store or jumper version here) & heels (£95).

Untitled-8

LOOK 8: This is another favourite look of mine – and one of my three favourite components; sequins, a sweat jumper, and a giant animal motive. Teamed over an electric blue leather dress (this is also pretty amazing, and equally as nice on it’s own) – I love the contrast of the casual leather, grey cotton and humour element (and how gorgeous doesn’t the model look in the pic on the right?).

Get the look: Dress (£300) & jumper (in store).

Which look is your favourite?

[LIFESTYLE] Nike Free Run 4.0

I never forget sitting at The Bowery Hotel in New York, and literally just staring at this gorgeous French woman (ok, that sounds a bit weird). Anyways, she was sitting with a slinky black long silk dress, her wrists stacked with gold bangles, her caramel locks tousled down her shoulders, a fitted tuxedo blazer – and lime green Nike Free Run (and smoking a cigarette of course – only French women can get away with looking good doing that). The whole look was so wrong – yet so (amazingly) right. Ok, I haven’t taken it to quite that level (yet) – but my love for Nike Free Run is getting stronger (my first pair acquired in this post) – and I’m definitely getting used to wearing them in an outfit (and not for actual running) – like today, when I wore them with my leather skirt and a smart coat. I also think they should be as bright as possible, in fear of them looking too much of a boring trainer. So, now I want to hear your honest opinion on this trend – does it work, can I pull this off??

Nike Free Run, similar from here.

P.S Oh, and by the way, you’re going to see a lot more of this blue door as the backdrop of many of my photos going forward (especially when it’s raining). Say hello to my new home.

Another day, another pair of earrings! From, where else? Etsy, my favorite destination for small independent designers. I am slightly obsessed with hoops at the moment, in all shades of metal – so I decided to click home the whole colour range; silver, grey and gold!

Earrings from JunesJewelrySupplies, from £1.56 for one pair.

[BEAUTY] Perricone MD Deep Moisture Therapy

Ok, I am officially obsessed with Perricone MD. And I won’t regret stating that it’s one of the best skin and beauty brand I have yet to have tried – and that is a big statement, considering I’ve only tried a few of their products (Cleansing Bar and No Concealer Concealer).

I just received their Deep Moisture Therapy day and night moisturiser (which is already a plus in my books; the less jars to bring with me when I’m on the go, the better). This antioxidant-based cream is “designed to relieve dry, flaky skin and minimises the appearance of imperfections and wrinkles, whilst nourishing, protecting and restoring.”

Just what my skin needs in this cold and damp weather, and especially after being in a building/moving/stressful environment where my current complexion is pretty dull and lifeless (paint and saw dust has never really done any wonders for my skin, funnily enough). I can’t wait to start using it!

As always, a review will follow. Get Perricone MD Deep Moisture Therapy here.

In LOVE with these beautiful handcrafted gold filled chandelier earrings from Bijoux by Desi F. Classic, yet unique enough to add character and femininity to an outfit. They will look beautiful in the summer with a soft and sophisticated outfit, or just keep it simple with a more relaxed style, such as this grey sweat and skinny jeans I wore today – love the contrast of ultra-casual with some ‘bohemian bling’.

Gold filled chandelier earrings from Bijoux by Desi F, £24.

[LIFESTYLE] Diptyque ‘Mimosa’ Scented Candle

New in is this Diptyque ‘Mimosa’ scented candle as my first official house warming pressie from friends (and that particular friend got it spot on).

A scented candle makes me more happy than many things (besides really good food and red wine, maybe). Other favorites are Voluspa (as seen in this post) and Malin+Goetz (as seen in this post) – but Diptyque must be my my no.1 out of these – because it has it all; a huge variation of scents, packaging and longevity. This is now safely planted on our new Loaf bedside tables, and will be alight every night while reading my book. Bliss!

Diptyque ‘Mimosa’, £40, from Space NK.

Healthy food, NOM.

I was invited to the UK launch dinner of Birchbox (a beauty subscription concept founded in the US ). We were taken to a secret location in Shoreditch (in pink Birchbox cabs!), where we were treated to manicures and other various goodies – ending the night at one of my new favourite fish places in London – Newman Street Tavern. Read more about Birchbox in my previous post here.

I spent the Birchbox evening with my blogger partner in crime – the gorgeous Natalie, founder of Canned Fashion (how amazing is her vintage Chanel tracksuit jacket?). // Enjoying champagne after our manicures!

On and off with the flu; stocked up with fruit, cough syrup, and something to put a smile on my face – red roses from my man. // KING KANYE, at Hammersmith Apollo.

Moving weekend, happy face! // Organising my wardrobe (this took days).

We went to Marrakech with the family, stayed at the most beautiful Riad and ate far too much amazing food (in other words, a perfect holiday).

[REVIEW] Sophyto Organic Super Skin Concentrate

Mar 13, 2013 by Anneli in BEAUTY 2 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: BEAUTY, health, natural, planet organic, skincare, sophyto

Review from this post.

Sophyto Organic Super Skin Concentrate, does everything it promises to do; nourish and protect environmentally stressed skin (effects from living in big cities since I was 19 yrs old).

This serum is so nice, I actually look forward to going to bed so I can moisturise with this gorgeous serum. Being free from artificial fragrance, colors, fillers and parabens – it doesn’t smell much other than a natural odour, which I love. It’s worked wonders for my skin, and it’s savoured it throughout the winter, when I normally get red patches from the cold and damp weather.

I have tried many serums in the past, and I must say, this one scores top marks for having a natural feel (it’s 100% certified gluten-free!) and for not leaving any greasy residue, which so many serums do. My skin is left soft and moisturised after every sleep (and it lasts long – I’ve still got some left!). Top marks from me!

Sophyto, £35.19 (for 30ml) from Planet Organic.

[FASHION] Vero Moda Initial ‘A’ Sweat Jumper

Jumper: Vero Moda / Skirt: Zara / Jacket: Vero Moda Very (similar here) / Tights: Falke / Boots: Jeffrey Campbell (similar here)

Ok, I obviously love my name (as seen in this previous post as well). No, but seriously, I’m obsessed with sweats at the moments (especially the grey ones), and I guess it’s a bonus when they’re printed with my initial on! Teaming a sweat with leather and some bright colours; adds ‘luxe’ to a more sportier and relaxed look.

From Vero Moda, £8.99.
