I’ve been pretty much obsessed with this beauty of a dress from Zara (where else?!) ever since I laid my eyes on it. It’s very Mary Katrantzou-esque – whom I adore – and with the quality of the medium-thick cotton, makes it the perfect dress to wear during the day with bejewelled sandals to the office, or even on a night out, with some fab heels and a black biker jacket. In other words, a very versatile dress. Granted, it’s not long – but that’s compensated with its ‘box-fit’, t-shirt sleeves and high neck.

Think I’ve just found the perfect summer dress!

This is, without exaggaration, the most beautiful dress I own to date. I have been looking for the perfect dress for my engagement party, and this one was love at first sight. Ideal length, colour and style – elegant yet eclectic. I love the sheer navy applique over the cream silk, and the pannelled elements. Super flattering and chic.

I’m sorry for the grainy outfit pics, but we were in such a rush, so these will have to do. Our engagement party was a huge sucess, we felt so honoured to see how many people had made an effort to attend, as many were travelling from abroad. I was initially so stressed out (no surpise there), but it turned out perfect and truly a night to remember. On the day, we were surprised with a hotel suite at the private members club/hotel, Home House (pictured above) – staying in the Lady Islington suite, which we found out was Madonna’s old apartment suite…! It was quintessentially British and gorgeous, loved it. All in all – a pretty amazing weekend.

I wore the dress with nude heels from Dries Van Noten (similar here) and my trusted Chanel 2.55 (not pictured here).

NEW IN // #2 Second Hand Finds: LBD

The #2 purchase from my second hand finds was this perfect daytime LBD (little black dress, £3.50) made from soft cotton and viscose. It’s super feminine; with an enhanced waist and cocoon shaped bottom part. I love the quality and casual style of it, and can foresee it being my fail safe black dress for both work and pleasure.

I am wearing it with a slim-line black patent belt from Filippa K, adding some structure to the look.

As I’m sure you’ve gathered about now, I am very excited for my trip away to Spain. Now, my only concern is the weather! April can be so temperamental. Either ways, it will be great to just chill for 10 days, hopefully with some tanning, running and loads of catching up on my reading (I’ve started and finished about 5 books for the last few months). Too many distractions here in London.

For my holiday I have been unpacking my summer bits, as well as acquiring some new additions to my wardrobe. Back to the dress. The detailing and handwork of the lace is exceptional – I can’t wait to wear it in the summer months with a leather jacket and some gold strappy sandals. Today I wore it with a black leather and metal belt – contrast is key when wearing lace. Get it from NFD for £89.

NEW IN // Sale! T-BAGS Blossom-print Satin Maxi Dress

As mentioned, I got a couple of sale orders through today, and this was the other one – a gorgeous red silk maxi dress from T-BAGS. The colour is an amazing strong red, with soft nuances of pink, orange and yellow in 100% silk.

I bought it with the intention of wearing it to my sister’s wedding in the summer. She is having a bohemian style wedding by the sea, so I thought this could work quite well. I haven’t decided yet, as I think it might be a bit too casual – but it’s definitely a contender!

This also came from NET-A-PORTER and it cost me £52.50 (reduced from £175.)

NEW IN // Zara Black Lace Dress

I have desperately been looking for a dress to wear to my company party which is only 2 days away! Today I found this little number at Zara – as I often like to say; when in need, go to Zara…. – and it’s perfect. I was ideally looking for something non-black, as I too often tend to opt for a safe colour. However I couldn’t resist the lace detailing on the arms, the high neck with the semi-open back, and a good length (not too short). I got this dress in a Sz. S and it fits perfect (I am a standard Sz. S in Zara). The dress was a steal at £39!

Style tip: Pair it with some black ankle booties to break up the feminine elements and add a colour-block clutch to brighten the outfit.
