[INSPIRATION] Nike Free Run

Ok, so I am on this trend again. You guys might recall this outfit post a few weeks back, wearing my new Nike Free Run together with a ‘normal’ outfit (not for gym or commuting). I got some nice comments, and not so positive (which I enjoyed reading nevertheless!). I love your feedback and comments – what I think works, might not work for someone else – and I don’t shy away from hearing it!

Anyways, back to these Nike Free Run trainers. Yes, as stated in the name, they are technically trainers made for running. But I have fallen in love with the style and colour, and think they work for everyday use as well – always teamed with some kind of leather, be it trousers, fringe or a patent skirt.

Tip: Make sure to add on some key accessories such as a statement necklace, clutch or oversized earrings/bangles. Adding on those extra elements will make this outfit what it is (and hopefully not just for commuting) – which I agree, can be a very fine line.

Nike Free Run trainers in neon or black, from £81.

Fashion week has been on for a few weeks now, and the web is full of street style shots and inspiring looks. Whilst I personally wouldn’t rock up with over half the looks myself, I take inspiration from the colours and combinations. These ones above however, I wouldn’t mind jumping in right about now…

[BEAUTY] Matrix Biolage Hydratherapie

My hair is a constant struggle – although I was blessed with strong and thick hair, I foolishly started colouring it when I was 14. I’ve had everything – purple (!), black, red (!), orange (!), various shades of brown and blonde. I have stuck with the caramel/blonde for the past 2-3 years (which is a long time for me) – and it’s what I feel the most comfortable with. Needless to say, my hair is a lot thinner and more fragile now, so it’s important I have good haircare. I was recommended this duo from Matrix, which is ultra hydrating and softening (and paraben free). I will let you know how I get on!

On the subject of colouring – I’m on it again! With everything in life, I get easily bored and now I really want to enhance the blonde ends, either more brighter blonde, or a softer look. I’ve booked an appointment at the hairdressers this weekend, but I’m indecisive. What do you think? Go blonder, stay the same, or even – go darker?

[LIFESTYLE] New Flat Inspiration

Jan 10, 2013 by Anneli in LIFESTYLE 5 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: bathroom, flat, inspiration, kitchen, lounge, new apartment, renovation, second bedroom

As many of you might have picked up on, I’ve recently bought a new flat (after selling my first one back in the summer). The sale has taken a long time to go through, but I finally pick up the keys in a few days! So excited. It’s another renovation project, which is just how I wanted it (it’s not like I’m not busy enough already!). Anyways, see below for my ideas and plans for the new place…

LOUNGE // Muted and natural colours on the walls and main interior, being the sofa, table, bookshelf’s, etc. I want to combine this with strong colours and prints on the smaller accessories such as cushions, wall prints, flowers and lamps. Creating a warm yet stylish space.

KITCHEN // A traditional grey/green panelled kitchen together with bevelled brick tiles. Mixed with modern industrial steel lamps and smooth grey granite stone surfaces. The kitchen and lounge is going to be open plan, so it’s important to keep the kitchen as minimal as possible, as well as merging the colour scheme and colours together.

1st BEDROOM // I want the bedroom to be the most calm, serene and clean looking room – with natural colours such as sand, cream and blue tone colours. Bed and sidetables in weathered wood and a soft carpet to make it warm and cozy.

2nd BEDROOM // The second bedroom is big enough to be an actual bedroom, but I’ve already put in a request to have it as (my) study/bedroom with a desk and sofa bed. I bought the most beautiful old vintage wooden and leather chair from an antique boutique over the Christmas holiday – this will look great together with an otherwise bright and modern bedroom.

BATHROOM // White bevelled brick tiles and a walk-in shower, with a statement flooring (like above). I might not opt for traditional cupboards, but rather mix more modern appliances together with the traditional tiles and floors. As I will most like be selling the flat within the next 2 years (I can’t ever stay somewehere for too long, ha), it’s important to keep it minimal and practical.

So there you have it! I will show you snapshots of the process, and as soon as I’m all settled in I will (finally) give you a proper insight into my improved wardrobe and fave pieces!

[INSPIRATION] JAK & JIL

Jul 31, 2012 by Anneli in FASHION COMMENT ❤ HERE TAGS: FASHION, inspiration, jak & jil, street style, tommy ton, wish list

When I’m feeling slightly grey, un-inspired, lifeless… I log onto my favourite websites for all things style, colour and real-life (well, as real as it can be in this pretty world of fashion).

Tommy Ton from style blog JAK & JIL is a pure genius when it comes to snapping up street style, and one of my favourite sources of inspiration. He manages to capture textures, facial expressions, postures and life passing by, like none other.

Hope you enjoy this sudden spurt of inspiration as much as I did – it was much needed on my behalf, on this grey Tuesday evening!
