[FASHION] Zara Quilted Leather Biker Jacket

Jacket: Zara (£169) / T-shirt: Vintage / Jeans: J Brand (similar here) / Sunglasses: Lindex

I had no immediate intention to buy another leather jacket, but this beauty was far too gorgeous to resist… And even though I have quite a large jacket (and leather) collection – I don’t actually own a black biker version. I have been looking for the perfect one for quite some time now – and after seeing various ones I’ve wanted (sadly, Balenciaga, Burberry Prorsum, YSL and Joseph – aren’t quite within my price bracket) – I think I might have found it.

Made from super soft leather, quilted arms, silver buckle detailing – this one certainly fits the brief I was after, and will just get better with age (and certainly more affordable).

The only thing I wasn’t initially happy with, were the wide folded flaps on the front; I wanted them more pinned back. So when I went back this weekend to visit my family, my mum (who is a wonderful dressmaker) managed to stitch them, so it’s now near enough perfect!

[OUTFIT] Grey Marl & Leather

Jacket: Selected Femme (on sale now!) / Jumper: H&M / Jeans: J Brand / Bag: Whistles / Boots: Acne / Sunglasses: Zara

Sometimes (actually, rather often) – all I want to wear is a grey sweat jumper. In order to not look too casual, I always try to add some more ‘dressed up’ elements, such as a leather jacket and some height on my feet (the Acne ‘Pistol’ rarely leaves my sight). Another way to dress up a basic sweat jumper, is adding glam jewellery such as over-the-top chandelier earrings, making the look more feminine and soft. Love this look! I am also still obsessed with my bargain buy sunglasses from Zara – they seem to brighten up any outfit, adding that slight edge to an otherwise simple and clean look.

On another note…by the time you’re reading this, I’ve landed in Split (Croatia) – hopefully relaxing in the sun. Our plans for the long weekend is to look at various wedding venues, in Split and the surrounding islands. So exciting! I will of course report back as soon as I’m back in London.

Oh, I do love a good leather jacket. My collection is growing with several variations in black, red, blue, brown…now this cute beige biker version from Selected Femme has joined my collection. Made from sturdy, yet super soft leather; it’s a great fit, with silver button and zip detailing.

A great alternative to the black leather jacket come summer time!

[FASHION] London Rebel Gold Leather Ballerinas

Ballerinas: London Rebel, £19.99 (similar here and here) / Shirt: Vero Moda (similar here) / Jeans: J Brand

Spring is in the air, and my love for flats and ballerinas in all colours and combination, is revived. First ballerina pair in? These gorgeous gold leather flats bought at TK Maxx (a great British designer discount outlet) from London Rebel.

The first thing which is essential when searching for good flat shoes, is the shape. I am particular about many things when it comes to my own style; one of them being the shape of my shoes. I never go for anything too bulky or heavy – always with a slim line/almond shape fit. I like my feet to look petite, and not being the centre of attention (this is excluding killer heels – I never mind these to be colourful or ‘loud’ – yet I also like these pretty slim, hence strappy sandals are my favourite).

So, I guess I just let you in on one of my many particular and ‘weird’ things I have about my fashion (I am sure there is more to come!). Now over to the main subject of this post - the gold ballerina beauties. Such a simple pair of shoes, yet effective and super versatile. Wear them with a relaxed outfit or a blazer, add on some great jewellery and a statement bag, and it’s the perfect casual office/weekend outfit!

[FASHION] SALE! #2 Zara Leather & Knit Panelled Jumper

Jan 21, 2013 by Anneli in FASHION 7 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: clothing, FASHION, leather, outfit, panelled, sale, shopping, zara

This was another purchase from the Zara sale – a black leather & knit pannelled jumper. I can sense this is going to be a long term favourite in my wardrobe – it’s a classic piece, with that added edge. I glammed it up with my fab vintage boots and ladylike coat. I don’t tend to go overboard with leather in one outfit, but as long as you keep it subtle, with muted colours and other dominant materials, you can get away with it!

From Zara, £19.

I am wearing the knit with mohair coat from J.Crew (similar here on sale), jeans from Superfine, vintage boots and necklaces from Bijoux by Desi F.

[FASHION] SALE! REISS Navy & Black Scallop Booties

Jan 9, 2013 by Anneli in FASHION 7 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: booties, clothing, FASHION, leather, outfit, reiss, sale, scalloped

One of the things you wanted to see more from me in the new year, was party and evening wear posts. Well, consider this the first request granted (and many more to come of course!).

I go out a lot during the week, be it for dinner, drinks with friends or dancing. As I’ve got older I do enjoy the ‘dinner and drinks’ part much more, and for that I often dress up in pants/trousers, rather than dresses. A great pair of tailored pants can look so elegant on a night out, especially when you add some leather and statement accessories, to really ‘vamp’ up the outfit. A leather jacket can really pull it all together, making it more edgy, yet still looking dressed up. My jaw nearly dropped when I found these gorgeous booties from REISS, on sale. To me, they are perfection. I love the navy/black combo and the scalloped edge in patent leather – so unique! They’re surprisingly comfortable (admittedly, my feet were killing on NYE after dancing for 3 hours), but that was extreme I guess.

From REISS, on sale here, £79.

I am wearing the shoes with leather jacket from TK Maxx (similar here), trousers from Filippa K, silk top from Selected Femme and gold watch from Sekonda.

[FASHION] Zara Leather Studded Skirt

Dec 2, 2012 by Anneli in FASHION 6 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: clothes, FASHION, leather, outfit, studded skirt, style, zara

I love my new studded skirt from Zara! It’s made in great quality leather (Zara does it so well in terms value for money). I bought a leather skirt from Zara last season, and it’s one of my most worn pieces. I have a feeling this one will be as well – with it’s studded gold detailing and flappy ends. I love wearing skirts and knits together in the colder months – adding feminine elements and shape, even though it’s freezing!

Skirt from Zara, £79.99.

I am wearing the skirt with a black knitted jumper from Selected Femme, opaque tights from Falke (the best, ever), vintage booties, bag from Balenciaga, fedora hat from Selected Femme watch from Michael Kors and a selection of necklaces from Bijoux by Desi F.
