[FASHION] New Year’s Eve

Not the glitzy outfit I was after, but hey, it was pouring down, and I was going to a rooftop party! I went to Topshop in hunt for the dresses in my Wish List the other day, but they were sadly sold out in my size. I did however pick up some pieces that I ended up wearing, I will you show you better pictures and descriptions later on in the week! I loved my make up as well – the lipstick is such a great colour and the eyeshadow gives a nice, warm glow. I also curled my hair with my new, amazing curling tongs from Remington (a Christmas present from my BF). Why didn’t I invest in tongs before? Looks super fab when brushed out for a softer and more natural look.

[BEAUTY] MAC Make Up

It’s New Years Eve! And what a year it has been… I will be ringing in the new year on the rooftop of Shoreditch House with dinner and a big party – can’t wait! Needless to say I will be scrambling around later on this afternoon for a glittery outfit, but at least my make-up is sorted.

I love doing my make-up, often going for dramatic dark eyes and pale/peach lips. This year I will be opting for dark lips and golden eyes from MAC (much to my fiancée’s dismay, who’s not too keen on the ‘red lip’ look). I will show you how it turns out later!

[BEAUTY] Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Powder

I wouldn’t usually opt for face powder – first of all because it’s summer (although, summer is currently non-existent in London), and secondly, I’ve never been a big fan of powders as they often clog up your pores.

I’ve been using a MAC Mineral compact powder for the last few years, which was really lightweight. However the powder kept cracking up so I could never bring it with me anywhere, in fear of it spilling out in my bag.

I discovered this powder from Giorgio Armani (£31) a while back, after trying it at the airport. It’s really lightweight and thin – admittedly it doesn’t cover all marks and blemishes, but that’s why I like it. I like my look to be natural, and not like I am wearing a ’full-face’ during the day. For this, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Powder definitetly does the trick.

[BEAUTY] Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder

I topped up on my favourite terrocotta bronzer from Guerlain at Tax Free coming over (TF price/£27 – Online/£33.50). It’s the perfect bronzer, it’s soft and lasts for hours. As I am quite tanned at the moment, I have bought shade 04 – which is very dark and bronzed. Normally, I would go for shade 03 for a softer and warmer look.

On another note I’m still slowly recovering from the wedding – the preparations started 8am and we trotted to bed at 5am after finishing off with a bonfire and dancing on the beach. An incredibly, memorable day. We’re on our way back to London now, settling into normality and a super busy week. Have a great Monday everyone!

[BEAUTY] Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow

I remember when I was like 15 years old, my best friend at the time brought home a book by Kevyn Aucoin from the U.S. It was all about teaching you how to apply make-up, different looks, styles and tips & tricks. It was our make-up bible and sacred to us for so many years.

Sadly, Kevin Aucoin passed away at a very young age in 2002, but his spirit lives on in his amazing beauty products. I’ve been after a cream blush for this summer, so when I came across this one from here in the colour ‘Isadore’, £19, I just had to try it out (and it just happens, it brings back some real good teenage memories.)

[BEAUTY] NARS Cosmetics

I love NARS Cosmetics – they always make so many nice colours and style ranges. I picked up this goodie bag containing a cream blush (£21) in dark pink, an exclusive Thakoon for NARS collection nail polish (£14) in this amazing orange pop colour, and a raspberry red lipstick (£17.50).

As both the cream blusher and lipstick are quite a dark shade of pink/red, I would use these tones in the summer when I’m bronzed. As I have olive skin, I usually don’t suit reds and pinks in the winter. The same with the nail polish – great with tanned feet – maybe wearing these sandals to show them off?
