[BEAUTY] Supergoop! SPF 30+ Serum and Lip Balm

May 26, 2012 by Anneli in BEAUTY 1 COMMENT❤ TAGS: BEAUTY, face, Holiday, lipbalm, sunscreen, supergoop, uv

Another beauty essential, is good SPF face cream. I’ve always just used normal sunscreen for my face – so I was delighted to discover this new facial UV range from Supergoop!. It’s created for city life and every day use, which is supposed to leave your skin feeling light and protected and not greasy or clogged up, which so many other standard sun creams often do.

About Supergoop!

The goal of Supergoop! is simple: To provide innovative everyday UV protection solutions, affordable for all, that meet the new European recommendations while being mindful of skin-compatible ingredients and natural preservative systems. It is also water-resistant and free of fragrances, synthetic dyes, and sulfates, earning a clinical stamp of approval for all skin types (sensitive skin and babies included).

Sounds good to me! I purchased the highly recommended City Sunscreen Serum (£27) and SPF 30+ UVA l UVB AcaiFusion Lip Balm (£6).

Key Benefits?

City Sunscreen – Ideal for smoothing wrinkles and fine lines, and counteracting signs of skin aging. The perfect first step SPF primer, post cleansing.

Lip Balm – Provide a unique, high SPF 30 lip balm solution to protect against broad-spectrum UV rays in a super-antioxidant and regenerative formulation. Hydrates lips, fights free radicals, and helps repair oxidation damage.

How to use?

City Sunscreen – Apply one to two pumps of product to face and neck each morning. Massage into skin and leave on. Can be used alone or under makeup as a primer. Reapply after swimming or exposure to water.

Lip Balm – Apply generously and evenly to bare lips. Reapply frequently after swimming or towel drying.

Been cooling down and relaxing by the pool all day, it’s so hot here. Had an amazing night out last night and recharging our batteries for another round later on. Never want to leave this place!

[BEAUTY] Philip Kingsley Swimcap

May 24, 2012 by Anneli in BEAUTY 2 COMMENTS❤❤ TAGS: BEAUTY, hair care, Holiday, philip kingsley, products, sun, swim, uv

So, holiday time (I know, again). The destination will be revealed shortly, as it’s a surprise for my sister’s hen do – who reads my blog religiously (well, she says she does). As we speak, she is probably being kidnapped by her friends in Norway who will take her to the airport. We’ll all meet up at the final destination for a fun-packed hen weekend – classy and sophisticated, no doubt.

As always, I like to be prepared for my holiday – both beauty and outfit option wise (overweight luggage is standard). So in terms of beauty products for this holiday, I have amongst some other essentials, acquired Philip Kingsley Swimcap (£16.95 for 150ml). I’m very familiar with the brand and the man – he’s a true legend within hair care, haven worked with numerous celebrity icons for over 45 years. Needless to say I was really excited to try his new holiday product range.

So, what exactly is Swimcap?

It’s basically sun, swim & weather protection for your hair. It guards against discolouration and damage caused by weathering from sun (UV protection), chlorine, salt water and wind – whilst providing a super conditioning treatment for your hair.

How to use it?

It’s for all hair types. Prior to exposure, apply in sections to dampened hair, work or comb through evenly. Always reapply after swimming. Once exposure to weather/water is over, wash and condition hair as usual.

My initial worry was the liquid stinging when I went swimming, and that it would leave my hair greasy. I was reassured it does neither – it sinks straight in to your hair and scalp, leaving your hair super soft. I for one can’t wait to use it – in only a few hours if I’m lucky!

A review will follow – watch this space.

See you on the other side. Hasta luego!
